Worship & Sacraments
Prayer Ministry
The Prayer Ministry is a new ministry team, established in 2023; and are still grow and discussion additional activity for the ministry team to initiate
Mission: To help lead the congregation into developing a deeper and more purposeful relationship with God through prayer.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” -Philippians 4:6 (NIV)
Our Focus:
- Supporting each other both individually and corporately as a Church body
- Leading the congregation to develop a deeper and more purposeful relationship with God through prayer.
- The Prayer Ministry has also begun praying over the sanctuary before several Sunday worship services.
- A Prayer Box was placed in the Northex for congregants to place prayer respect for ministry team to pray over
- A Prayer Request page was added to the church’s website
- The ministry team post posters about ‘prayer’ on boards in the Narthex and near Fellowship Hall.
- Announcement encouraging the congregation to continue praying for the church during our transition to new pastoral leadership is included in the weekly Sunday announcement
Christian Education
Christian Education Ministry Team help to nurture and equip others in their faith
journey in Sunday School and Confirmation classes
Stewardship and Missions
The Stewardship and Missions Ministry you help cultivate a culture of generosity and stewardship within the church.
Community Engagement
Community Engagement Ministry Team encourages the congregation to step outside of their comfort zones, break down barriers in the community and embrace the diverse needs and realities of the community.
You reach out into the community, sponsoring the annual Easter Egg Hunt; Halloween Trunk or Treat and several other events for the Oxford Church congregation and the community.
Within the church you oversee the L.E.A.P. Tutoring program, the Litergical Dance Ministry and other programs for the Youth.
Property Management
This ministry team oversees the management and stewardship of the church’s property. This work is vital to creating a welcoming and functional space for worship, fellowship and ministry.
This ministry is responsible for upkeep of the building to the management of the maintenance at Oxford, ensuring that the church remains a safe, functional and inviting space for all who enter.
Finance
Personnel
The Personnel ministry team serves as stewards of the church’s human resources, overseeing the support of the staff at Oxford.
Communications and Media
The Communiations & Media Ministry Team works to help spread the Gospel message, fostering communityand creating a welcoming environment within the church using digital and social media platform.
In March, 2020 when the COVID Pandemic hit, we had to pivot and come up with a way to worship virtually. Prior to The COVID-19 shutdown, we were an in-person worshipping congregation. The Media Ministry team formed, develop the Zoom & Facebook platform and Oxford Sunday worship service we online. Over the past 3 years, we added video & audio capabilities within the sanctuary and a refreshed/redesigned website was designed and implemented and Online giving thru the website or thru an App was made available and is widely utilized.
The work is not finished. We continue to work to bring the church’s message to life in the digital environment, engaging both the congregation and the broader community in meaningful ways.
Board of Deacons
Mission: The ministry of the Deacons is to serve the congregation and the community spiritually and physically.
